Can I Cut FRTW?
ò Yes. Cutting lengths, drilling holes, and light sanding
á are permissible. It is not necessary to field-treat
á cut ends to maintain the flame spread rating. Most
á species of FRT lumber should not be ripped or milled.
á FRT plywood can be ripped or cross-cut.
Does FRTW Have Any Special Features?
ò Many types of FRTW are pressure treated, backed
á by a warranty, provide extended structural support
á during a fire, produce less smoke and in some cases
á have preservative qualities.
